TF-CBT, or Trauma Focused- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, is a treatment approach specifically designed for children and adolescents diagnosed with PTSD. This evidence based approach involves a structured treatment program to engage children and adolescents in addition to a supportive caregiver to address trauma symptoms.
DBT, or Dialectical Behavior Therapy, is a treatment approach for all ages. DBT includes 4 modules: Mindfulness, Emotion Regulation, Distress Tolerance, and Interpersonal Effectiveness. This is a structured program with a myriad of skills and worksheets to address symptoms from many diagnoses including, but not limited to, Borderline Personality Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder, and Generalized Anxiety Disorder.
SFBT, or Solution Focused Brief Therapy, is an evidence based approach that focuses on the solution rather than the problems that face us on a daily basis. SFBT is a useful approach when dealing with a number of diagnoses because the emphasis is not on the symptoms, but rather the unique solutions an individual is capable of enacting to resolve these symptoms.
